Hi, good question, even as an engineer I find certain bits boring, however there are so many different things that engineers do that I have always found something I enjoy! For example, you may not enjoy designing something on a computer but you might enjoy testing a car and trying to improve the way it works.
For me what I really enjoy is managing projects and people, understanding how a business works and trying to make sure that the product I am working on is wanted by people and therefore that they will actually buy it. Which is not so much technical engineering, however it uses all the skills I learnt as an engineer and my understanding of the technical side to do something I really enjoy.

      Hi

Did you ever see an accountant getting to do this?

All jobs can be boring but we have a lot of fun and laughter as we go about our daily work. The people aound you whilst you are doing your job can make all of the difference!

      Dear 396kvnc25 and 746kvnc34,
“To know something is to love something” (translated from a Malay idiom). Since you enjoyed the Design and Technology course, come and visit the Thames Barrier, one of the largest movable flood barriers in the world (https://www.gov.uk/the-thames-barrier) and Brunel Museum (named after a famous engineer: http://www.brunel-museum.org.uk/). You can learn what great engineers do and what they did that made them great.

I like engineering because I feel enthusiastic whenever I can make a difference in everyone’s life. I designed a footbridge, it is built on the site, people admired my design and it became a fond memory in everyone’s everyday life for years to come.

Engineering breaks down into plenty of categories. It is not only sitting in front the computer and doing maths. It is also designing which is drawing on the computer or testing new products or managing engineers and there are so many disciplines.

However, there is always something boring in every discipline either it is engineering, medicine, accountant, scientists or a police officer. However, if you are following something you think you like, then you will find it the least boring 🙂

I find engineering boring if I do not get a lot to do. I love solving problems and looking for solutions. The idea of creating innovation as I do for space is driving me to do more. I hope you got what I mean 🙂
