• Question: how much does it cost to build a helicopter?

      Hey there! Great question and I suppose the obvious answer is a lot! I have worked on Chinook Helicopters in the Royal Air Force and we buy those form a company called BOEING in America. They cost about 15 million pounds to buy, the 2 engines cost about 1.5 million pounds and all the complicated electronic kit on board costs around 1 million pounds! In total that comes to around 17.5 million pounds! You could buy nearly 1200 brand new cars for the same amount!
